It’s no good if you fear losing against Nepal, Netherlands: Mashrafe

Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza on Monday said that it is no good if the Tigers fear losing against Nepal and Netherlands in the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh are placed in Group D alongside these two associate nations with Sri Lanka and South Africa and the pace-bowling all-rounder is confident that tourists will not only be victorious against the minnows but should also aim to earn victories in all four of their first-round matches.

“If you fear losing against them (Nepal, Netherlands), that’s not good. We must win against either South Africa or Sri Lanka and then beat both of them… Why not (win against) South Africa and Sri Lanka? We should aim to beat both teams,” Mashrafee told reporters after a press conference at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium.

“We should win against South Africa and Sri Lanka. We had won an away series against South Africa, even though that was an ODI series. I feel that they will at least win against either South Africa or Sri Lanka. Hopefully, they will do well,” he added.
